Lourdenatha School of Nursing, the First School in Thrissur, was started in the year 1962 with Rev. Sr. Blessila as the Principal & Late Msgr. Mathew Murigathery as the Director. Even though formerly started as ANM course, in the year 1966, the Government upgraded the course as General Nursing & Midwifery course. The course is affiliated to the Indian Nursing Council & recognized by Kerala Nurses & Midwifery Council.
Today the School of Nursing of Jubilee Mission Medical College is one of the best institutions of nursing education in the state with an annual intake of 50 students (both boys & girls) and efficient tutors. We give financial aid to carry on their studies. Students are privileged to obtain the best clinical experience from our own 1700 beded hospital with almost all specialities available. It is a 3 1/2 years certificate programme with one year compulsory bond. This course enables the students to get jobs abroad. Application for the course is issued in the month of July/August & interviews are called forth in the month of September/October. The classes start in the month of January.
Minimum Eligibility to the course are qualified in plus two/VHSC/HSC with science subjects.
